Windsor began two years after the end of WWII as a small company that made folding attic stairways. In the late 1940’s, an entrepreneur from Detroit, MI invented the Won-Dor…a simple sectional steel garage door. Over the years, Won-Dor grew and became a member of the Sears Roebuck Corporation. In 1961, Won-Dor was acquired from Sears, and the name was changed to “Windsor Door”. Beginning in 1963, the company built a 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in Little Rock, Arkansas, introducing a new, industry-leading tongue and groove sectional design. In 1969, CECO Corporation purchased Windsor from the owner since 1954, C.E. Webb, Sr. For the next 40 years, Windsor underwent a series of mergers and acquisitions until 2011 when Garage Door Services of Houston acquired the assets and re-established the company name to Windsor Door. Windsor Door continues today with its manufacturing plant located in Little Rock, Arkansas with distribution centers located in Ontario, CA; El Paso, TX, Little Rock, AR; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Arlington, TX and Richardson, TX.
